What is the Alpha Sigma Alpha Chapter?

 

Alpha Sigma Alpha is the local chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at DeAnza College in Cupertino, California.

Phi Theta Kappa is the International Community College academic honor society. Its primary purposes are to recognize outstanding academic achievement at the community college level and to enhance that academic development through the Honors Topic; to develop leadership skills in its members; and to offer a variety of community service activities.

ELECTIONS are coming in!!!!!!

This is to inform you of the upcoming Phi Theta Kappa Alpha Sigma Alpha Chapter Officer elections. Attached are two documents related to the election:  one that describes the election process, the other that lists the various officer positions.

 

This is the presentation that has been presented at the Fellowship Summit on Friday, May 11th - Fellowship Summit PPT. During the meeting on the same day, we have voted and amended the Chapter Bylaws.

How are you today? Alpha Sigma Alpha Chapter needs your help in selecting our Honors In Action Research Topic for 2012. The current HIA Topic selected by Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters is "The Culture of Competition". Among the 10 Themes that were given, in the meeting on April 20th we selected the top 5 that seem most interesting to members and officers. We will appreciate if you take the time and fill in our survey below, so that we can begin our research journey.

We have another great news for you!!! The whole board of Alpha Sigma Alpha is honored to share with you that at the Annual Phi Theta Kappa Convention in Nashville over the weekend of April 14-15 our Chapter was honored with the Distinguished College Project Award (Check out our new TROPHY at our next Chapter meeting on April 20th) and we were recognized as one of the top 100 Chapters in the country!

We are more than glad to announce that our Alpha Sigma Alpha Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa made it to 5 Star Level Chapter for 2011. We are very excited about this achievement and we will put our best effort in maintaining the 5 Star Level Chapter for 2012 as well. Thank you all for your support.
