Alpha Sigma Alpha is the local chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at DeAnza College in Cupertino, California.

Phi Theta Kappa is the International Community College academic honor society. Its primary purposes are to recognize outstanding academic achievement at the community college level and to enhance that academic development through the Honors Topic; to develop leadership skills in its members; and to offer a variety of community service activities.

Students May Apply for Leadership Advisory Opportunity
Community college students are eligible to apply for the Pearson Student Advisory Board, an opportunity to work with fellow student leaders and business representatives on educational publishing issues. Board positions include a stipend and require some travel, with all expenses paid. As Board members, students work directly with Pearson executives and product development teams to impact marketing and editorial initiatives. Pearson is an international media company whose products include digital and print learning materials.

Go to the Pearson Students website for information and to apply for the Advisory Board. Applications are due February 22.
